Our Aims & Values at Fable House

At Fable House, we believe that every student deserves an education that values their individuality, nurtures their well-being, and prepares them for life beyond school. Our approach is built around three core values:
Happy – A Safe & Nurturing Environment

We create a welcoming, supportive space where students feel valued, understood, and respected. Learning is only possible when students feel safe and happy, which is why we prioritise:

  • A low-demand, student-led approach, reducing anxiety and increasing engagement.
  • Strong, trusting relationships between students and staff.
  • Celebrating every success, big or small, in meaningful ways.
Independent – Preparing for the Future

We create a welcoming, supportive space where students feel valued, understood, and respected. Learning is only possible when students feel safe and happy, which is why we prioritise:

Healthy – Well-being First

Emotional and physical well-being are at the heart of everything we do. We help students develop the confidence, emotional literacy, and self-regulation skills they need to thrive by:

  • Understanding and supporting each student’s individual needs, supported by wider services as required.
  • Modelling and supporting self-regulation strategies tailored to each student.
  • Encouraging physical health through cooking, nutrition, and movement-based activities.

our offer
Fable House is a part time secondary and post-16 provision for students with complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties (SEMH)
including but not limited to; Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), Tourettes Syndrome, Situational Mutism (SM), Sensory Modulation Difficulties (SMD), Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD), Chromosomal Disorders, Speech and Language and Communication needs, and Emotional School Based Avoidance (ESBA).
The majority of our students have co-morbid conditions such as Learning Disability (LD) and/or Specific Learning Difficulty (SpLD) with many showing signs of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD) due to their experiences of the world and education prior to joining us.
